As you know our talented community of artists is spread out in a diverse area throughout our community however keeping the back gates closed for our event, places a heavier focus on those selling near the clubhouse and main entrance. That is a disservice to those artists located at the back area of the community and to the visitors who cannot find their way back to those artists. It's a simple thing to have the back gates open so traffic can follow the art walk signs to the artists in that area yet for some reason someone keeps refusing to open those gates. Time and again they are left closed for our event yet they are opened for other community events like our garage sale. It simply makes no sense and seriously affects the number of visitors to reach the back areas of the community. Can this be rectified? This would increase the attendance for this event and benefit other artists as well. Please help us artists in the back of the community with this frustrating obstacle. One other thought. Our art show took place on the same weekend as the Farmer's Market. This is a conflicting event that pulls traffic away from the art walk. Folks seeking out the wares of a farmers market are not likely to be interested in the art walk and many are limited on time and can only choose to attend one event. It stands to reason we would have much higher attendance if we were not competing with other events taking place on the same days as our art walk.
Our art walk is a terrific event and a great way to bring the community together while showcasing our beautiful neighborhoods. As an artist I am so grateful to have the chance to showcase my art at my home and share it with other art lovers and make new connections. So thanks for all you do to make this event happen for all of us artists. And thanks for taking my concerns under consideration and helping to rectify the obstacles that are making it very difficult to connect with the folks who want to see our art.Respectfully,Martha Tudisco
