Acrylic Painting with Julie Larsson-Nov-2025

Artist League Class Red Barn Acrylic Class Saturday November 8, 2025

This class is a step by step tutorial using acrylic paints on an 8×10 inch canvas board.
Attention is given to mixing paint colors, using the right brush and other items including a
sponge, credit card/palette knife. Direction on use of light and shadow, perspective and
composition are also included in the process.

My goal is to encourage creative expression and success with demonstration of brush strokes,
starting with the background, then the mid-ground and then the foreground and details.

The minimum number of students is 7 and the maximum is 20.

The cost of the class is $30, this includes all materials; canvas, brushes, sponge, palette knife,
paint, palette, water cup, paper towel, painting example, and step by step directions.

Participants are encouraged to bring an apron, or large shirt to cover their clothing.

Payment is required prior to class to reserve your seat. I accept personal checks and Zelle.

You are welcome to bring your own brushes or other items if you choose however, this will not
alter the cost of the class. I provide all materials to complete the class.

About The Instructor:

Julie Larsson is a local ar.st living in Peoria Arizona.

At the age of six, Julie began drawing and pain.ng, in both elementary  and high school, she explored watercolor, oil and acrylic medians as well
as clay sculpture.

A self-taught painter Julie has refined her skills with social media video tutorials, instructional “how to” books and years of practice, completing
over 250 paintings in the last 10 years.

Recently, Julie has begun to teach others the joy of artistic expression by offering pain.ng tutorials to groups of 20 people or less. The Ridges
at Peoria has encouraged Julie to offer pain.ng tutorials to seniors in Peoria, Sun City, Surprise and Glendale, often in churches and R.V. Resorts.

In the past two years, Julie has instructed over 2500 local seniors in learning the joy of painting.
